Corporate Events Reimagined

About Day at the Derby®

A fully produced, interactive system built specifically for convention-scale environments, where professionals connect through shared energy and social competition.

Focused innovation, decades of experience

Founded in 1990. Refined by a very specific problem.

Founded in 1990, our organization has spent decades producing premier corporate events across major U.S. markets. Through thousands of programs, we identified a consistent challenge: large-scale corporate functions, meetings, and dinners often felt passive and predictable.

A ballroom of professionals in chairs, watching a stage, is a room that has already given up its energy before dinner is served. Decades of running exactly that kind of program, in exactly those rooms, made the pattern impossible to ignore. The audience was not the problem. The format was.

A specialized live engagement platform

A vision that started in 2004, and never really stopped.

In 2004, we began developing a solution to transform how professionals connect during live events. That vision became Day at the Derby®.

Shared Energy

Guests enjoy the excitement of the leaderboard together, creating a vibrant, high-energy atmosphere across the entire event space.

Social Connection

This format fosters genuine face-to-face rapport and shared moments of celebration.

Professional Delivery

The result is a structured format that scales efficiently for large audiences while maintaining total control and a polished presentation.

Guest-Driven Decisions

Every result on the board starts with a guest making a call at an interactive kiosk. The night runs on their choices, not a script.

Field-tested, refined through real-world execution

Not a prototype. A mature, deployed system.

Day at the Derby® is a mature, field-tested platform refined through years of deployment in convention centers and resort ballrooms. The system integrates custom proprietary software, professional-grade hardware, and trained event staff into a seamless production package.

Proven Expertise

Decades of corporate event experience and a specialized focus, rather than a general events company offering this as one item on a long menu.

Production Excellence

Top-tier equipment, proprietary software and professional staffing on every program, not just the flagship ones.

Versatile Scalability

Purpose-built for large corporate audiences across meetings, dinners and conventions nationwide, from a 100-guest suite to a 2,000-guest closer.

Purely Social Competition

Structured formats designed strictly for professional entertainment and social engagement, built on selections and picks, not money changing hands.

Who runs the program

Ronald Keith May, Founder and Executive Producer

Keith May founded the company in 1990 and has stayed hands-on through every phase of it since, including the 2004 development work that became Day at the Derby. His title is Founder and Executive Producer, and in practice that means the same standards he set decades ago still govern how a kiosk gets calibrated and how a crew reads a room before doors open. He built the platform to solve one specific problem in ballrooms he had already worked in for years, and he has kept refining it in the same rooms ever since.

Modern production, built around the room, not around a screen.

The technology runs the leaderboard and keeps the rounds moving. What it is built to protect is the part that actually matters at a corporate event: people in the same room, talking to each other, because they have a reason to.
