Every round of The Main Event opens the same way: a matchup goes up on the big screen, guests make their pick from the touchscreen at the table, and the round plays out live with broadcast-style commentary carrying the room. When the round closes, the leaderboard updates in front of everyone, so the table that called it right gets to hear about it immediately, not read about it later in a recap email.
Built for the room, not the ring
Guests make selections and score picks, the same way they would in a bracket pool, and the format is designed strictly for professional entertainment and social engagement. Nothing changes hands beyond bragging rights and a spot on the leaderboard. The kiosks, the crew, and the presentation system all travel with the show and are fully staffed and turnkey, so a ballroom becomes a broadcast set inside a two hour window without your team managing a single cable.

Why planners book it

Most program formats give the room one thing to watch. The Main Event gives it two: the matchup itself, called with broadcast commentary and visuals, and the leaderboard behind it, updating table by table as picks are scored. That second layer is what keeps a table talking between rounds instead of checking phones, and it is why a room that has been in general sessions all day comes alive fast once the first round opens.
The format scales the same way every Day at the Derby® program does: headcount changes the number of kiosks and the size of the crew, not the shape of the night.
